In defense of being a hater Because it's a good thing

I welcome, with arms wide open, all haters in my circle. I do draw lines but I think a healthy amount of criticism is always a good thing because it’s cool to analyze the things you like and the things you don’t like. That’s also how I define the word ‘hater’ as it’s being used here. People who blindly like things that are popular will always be strange to me but companies are getting so good at manufacturing fake hype on their products to get people to buy them solely based on that generated hype alone, consumerism be damned, to hell.

We’re still looking for contributors, send us an email, DM, smoke signal. Please just get ahold of us.

The worst article ever written about hardcore kerrang I’m a fan of the bands mentioned but I just hate Kerrang as a publication. It sucks because ignoring them would be better because they wouldn’t get the traffic but if they were to go away then what would we use as a metric to gauge awful taste and writing?

Introducing - Praise Fuller Hailing from Houston, Texas Praise is an artist and printmaker who specializes in cyanotype photography. Cyanotype is a printing process that uses a chemical process and the sun to produce a cyan-colored print. Popular in the 20th century as a low cost and simple printmaking process but it has taken on a new meaning and function in the 21st century of technology by combing the two to craft high quality and deeply personal works of art. Praise finds the process meditative due to it connecting them with the elements and themselves as an artist. Please give Praise a follow on Instagram and buy something from their shop here. (We recently purchased an ABBA print for the Digital Future office)

Show us the room you’ve spent the most time in this summer…

Big shocker... it's my bedroom but it's come a long way since March when I was unemployed for 8 months. I splurged on linen sheets a few months before summer and it was the best decision I've ever made. The sun rises right in my face and illuminates my room up until midday so there's really no reason for me to not be in here all the time during the summer. There's an entire wall I'm refusing to show because it never looks clean no matter what kind of organizational changes I try to make so my tapes, records, and books will remain a secret for now.

Show us your workspace…

This is the most chaotic room in the house, it's seen some shit. Similar to my bedroom, no matter how much I try to organize/clean it still looks messy, and that's okay. I do everything in here that's not sleeping or listening to records. I think if you zoomed in and asked me about any object in view in that photo, I could provide a punishing story, even down to the roll of toilet paper on the desk. I love the fact that the sunsets here so it gets a lot of late afternoons and harsh golden hour light that's very comforting to me and I'm sure my plants.

Show us the oldest record you own…

Disclaimer, I don't know if I should be embarrassed to say this or not, but I don't really keep up with my records/tapes like that. I do like having tangible forms of albums but don't really care to know if it's an original pressing or reissued last year. My relationship with owning music was always funny, I grew up in a super strict Christian household and my mom went through my stuff like crazy. I remember having to throw away a Dinosaur Jr. CD because my mom didn't like the cover art (I also remember fishing it out of the trash later that night). The first record I got past her was Smashing Pumpkins - Gish, so oldest to me. It was early high school, I remember kids talking about Mellon Collie constantly, but Gish holds the significance of starting to develop my own music taste at what I felt was a later age than most.

Now that I've properly rambled, I also threw in this George Harrison 3 LP of All Things Must Pass because I'm pretty sure it is an original pressing. I stumbled across it thrifting and this older guy tried to convince me I didn't want it, so naturally, I had to cop and I cherish it deeply.

Show us your favorite piece of clothing...

These red cowboy boots and I have lived a thousand lives together, I just know it. My only quest in my next life is to find them again, that's how strongly I feel about these here boots. They're the most comfortable shoe I own with great support and a bright but cool red tone that goes with just about everything I own. I've worn them on every terrain imaginable and they never give me shit for it.
